$84 bikini tops to major backlash: Amanda Batula’s new swimwear line has caused chaos
At least her husband is supporting her
Amanda Batula has just launched a new swimwear line, but it’s not quite got the support she hoped for. People are ripping into the Summer House star for the prices, such as $84 for a bikini top, but there is one person whose had her back the entire time: her husband, Kyle Cooke, who runs his own company called Loverboy.
Amanda Batula launches a new swimwear line
Amanda Batula has launched a new swimwear line! The entrepreneur released the collection of simple bikinis, as well as patterned two-pieces covered in the likes of cherries and a red gingham check, on February 18. She’s spent weeks teasing the new collection drop, which is being sold exclusively on South Moon Under. Her husband, Kyle Cooke, has been super supportive.
She’s modelled the line herself, as well as hired models to showcase how it looks on different body types. Amanda first partnered with South Moon Under for the swimwear collaboration in August 2024, so it’s been several months in the making. Her Summer House co-star Paige DeSorbo showed her order online, which showed they’re charging $40 for two-day shipping, or free shipping for a longer wait.
She’s got major backlash for the prices
Amanda hasn’t quite got the reaction she hoped for after her swimwear launch. While there’s some people ecstatic over her swimwear designs, there’s a lot genuinely bashing the expensive prices, as it costs around $200 for a bikini set. Many who hoped to buy from the new collection have taken to Reddit discuss the costs.
One Redditor said: “We need to un-normalize $200 swim suits,” while another said, “Yeah, I don’t mean to be a hater, but these are SO blah for wayyy too much. Target has a better variety, more options, and cuter (or basic) quality designs for a FRACTION of the cost.” And another thing people are mad about is that the bra sizes only go up to DD.
“Wasn’t she saying she wanted to make swimsuits for larger chests? I thought they would offer more options for larger (DDD+) cup sizes. Correct me if I’m wrong, but this is standard sizing for most brands. I’ve seen similar sizes for lower price points, so I’m not sure what makes this unique other than it being her line. Hopefully there are more options in the future!” commented one person.
