Kylie Cosmetics is getting mocked for its ‘transparent’ attempt to aid LA fire victims
Kylie Jenner and her family members are all residents in the California area where devastating wildfires have been blazing out of control during the first weeks of January. The fires have tragically caused deaths, people to evacuate their houses, and some have lost their entire homes. During the terrifying time, it didn’t appear the Kar-Jenners were taking to social media. But, now Kylie breaks her silence.
As the founder of Kylie Cosmetics, Kylie Jenner takes to her Instagram Stories on January 16 to share what the company is doing to help fire victims. Kylie keeps her social media activity simple by resharing a Kylie Cosmetics post. The brand explains how it’s helping out in more ways than one in the fire aftermath. But, the post seems to be attracting more criticism than anything else.

Kylie Jenner breaks her LA wildfire silence
As “…more than 170,000 people are still under evacuation notices as firefighters battle the deadly Los Angeles blazes” this January, per CNN, Kylie is taking to her socials to share how she’s helping victims.
Although her sister, Kim Kardashian, shared a post to her grid regarding the wildfires, Kylie hasn’t done the same.
The reality TV star reshares a Kylie Cosmetics IG post with the caption: “Our hearts are with everyone affected by the devastating fires in Los Angeles.”
Critics weigh in on Kylie Cosmetics
Kylie Cosmetics explains what it’s doing to “show support” to wildfire victims this January.
The post reads:
“We are truly heartbroken to see the devastation caused by the fires in Los Angeles. Watching so many people forced to evacuate and hearing the stories of those who have lost everything is deeply saddening and difficult to comprehend. To show our support we will be donating to a number of organizations who are helping the relief effort, and we are donating skincare, body, hair and makeup products to Baby2Baby and to the Altadena Girls Fire Recovery…”
The Kylie Cosmetics post continues: “We are so inspired by Avery, who set up Altadena Girls after her school burnt down on January 8th to help provide items that help teens in Altadena feel confident and like themselves again. Our thoughts, love, and prayers are with you as you find your way forward and we pray that you can regain a sense of comfort and hope.”
While some people are praising the company’s efforts, writing: “What a beautiful thing you are doing for Los Angeles God bless you,” and “This is incredible,” others are weighing in on Kylie’s brand.
One comments: “Because makeup is a necessity at this time?”
But more loyal Kylie fans respond: “At least she’s doing something… what ya did?” and another writes: “She said they are donating to organizations and donating skincare and makeup.”
The harsh critics continue to comment on the post, writing: “lol sorry your house burnt down here’s some lotion,” “Copying Rhode,” “Took you guys long enough” and “You’re like a week late Kylie.”
