Look, Sterling Point has a chokehold on us in the same way Off Campus did, but if season two is set to go ahead, we need justice for Sully (Nikko Angelo Hinayo). The new Prime Video series centres on Annie Jacobson (Ella Rubin), a 17-year-old raised in New York City with her twin brother Connor (Keen Ruffalo) and adoptive father Steven (Jay Duplass). But when she and Connor discover they’ve inherited a remote Canadian island from a grandfather they knew nothing about, Annie decides to head over there, only to discover there are far more family secrets than she ever realised. Along the way, she makes a group of new friends, including Sully, who works at the local store. Right from the off, he brings a loveable, fun, chaotic, relentlessly charming energy to the group. Credit: Prime Video Viewers have singled Sully out as their fave, and his friendship with Connor only solidifies this, with fans shipping the pair after Sully helps him throw *that* Camp Rock 2-themed birthday party. But this is why his treatment by the group can be so frustrating at times. Most notably when the gang abandons him at the lake – and Sully being Sully just sees the funny side in it. As one TikToker wrote, “Sully needs justice for how they treat him.” They went on to explain, “Something that irritates me is how they all treat Sully. Like what do you mean you guys were all at that lake and then you guys just ditched him there with no way to get home? “He should’ve cut them off right then and there. No wonder he’s always apologising and being such a people pleaser. Not to mention he’s the only Black character in the show and everybody treats him like sh*t.” Other viewers agree with this, with one writing, “Why was he used as a joke like I thought he was gonna have a way bigger role.” Another pointed out, “For real, he didn’t get a single plot point to himself.” This might be why so many people are shipping him and Connor – sure, they have chemistry, but Connor is straight, and it’s also the only hint of a potential love interest for Sully. @ur_m0m69420 Sully needs Justice for how they treat him #sterlingpoint ♬ original sound – ur_m0m69420 Another X user wrote, “I’m really liking how in Sterling Point even the secondary characters get their little moments, just missing Sully for now though.” Sterling Point season two hasn’t been confirmed just yet, but there’s clearly demand for it as more and more people tune in. If it does get the greenlight, here’s hoping Sully can be given more screentime – and more love. As another TikTok user wrote, “I hope he gets his own storyline in season 2 because I feel like everyone has one but him. A romance angst, literally anything.” For all the latest film and TV updates and hot takes, like our Facebook page. Featured image credit: Prime Video Post navigation Next story
