Expertise

Politics and social sciences; migration, ethnic relations and multiculturalism; culture war; populism; the far-right; local charities; Sheffield and the surrounding area

  • It's been really rewarding to have the first story I've written go to print for the university newspaper this month!
  • I won a scholarship to complete a summer school course with the European Research Centre on Migration and Ethnic Relations at Utrecht University in the Netherlands last year. It was an intense but amazing two weeks of learning so much and meeting some incredible people from all over the world!
  • Although not totally fluent, after what feels like (and to some extent has been!) years of work and confusion, I have finally reached full proficiency in French!

Experience

After doing some soul searching over the summer, it has finally clicked that writing is the career path for me! This year I will be working on building up a strong portfolio: so far I have written a feature for Forge Press to be printed in the September issue, and I am looking into starting a blog and doing some work for local newspapers. I am really excited to start writing for The Tab!

Education

I am currently in the final year of my BA Sociology degree at the University of Sheffield. I am currently planning on applying for an MA Journalism course when I graduate, and I would ideally like to work in broadsheets writing opinion, political and social commentary pieces.
