Dark reason Love Is Blind star is still scared after husband was jailed for her attempted murder

Emily Ceco’s Love Is Blind husband, Santiago Martínez, is now in jail for the next 15 years, but that doesn’t mean that she’s stopped fearing for her life.

After getting married on Love Is Blind: Argentina and planning their wedding in the real world, Emily reported Santiago for abuse in February of last year. He was arrested, and following a trial, sentenced to 15 years for attempted murder, repeated assault, and unlawful detention.

“My whole body was shaking. I was terrified. During his statement, he apologised and said he still loved me,” she said after the ruling.

Though free of him for the next 15 years, there’s one heartbreaking thing at the back of Emily’s mind.

“I have 15 years of peace ahead. I don’t know what will happen when he gets out, but I hope the justice system continues to protect me. If he tried to kill me when I gave him everything, I can’t imagine what he might do to me or my family after 15 years of anger,” she explained.

“When he was killing me. Choking me. He was covering my face with a pillow, and punching me. He wouldn’t let me out. I made the decision to run away, and file a complaint,” she said.

Even then, her husband tried to force her to clean the house. She was in a lot of pain, but he asked whether she would try to rebel against him.

“At that moment, I realised, if I don’t leave this son of a b*tch will kill me,” she explained.

Emily was thankfully able to break away from him after that.
