The historic beef between Selling Sunset’s Chrishell and Emma Hernan’s boyfriend, explained

Blake appeared on the show as the women tried to patch things up

In the new episodes of Selling Sunset on Netflix, Emma Hernan brought her new boyfriend Blake along to a catch-up with her besties Chrishell Stause and Chelsea Lazkani. It was awkward, to say the least.

The meeting was less than comfortable, half because Emma’s boyfriend Blake spent most of the time talking about his hatred for vegetables and guacamole, and half because there was the giant elephant in the room regarding his apparent beef with Chrishell. It was mentioned that Chrishell “hates” Blake, and Emma said she invited him along to iron out their differences. But, nothing was really said about where their feud came from.

Here’s what we know about what went down.

So, what is the beef between Emma Hernan’s boyfriend and Chrishell?

Around six months ago, some posts were made about Emma and her boyfriend Blake. Chrishell seemed to confirm she’d fallen out with Emma over everything. Chrishell said she’d fallen out with her friend because of Blake’s apparent political views and, shall we say, choice of words.

In a video, Chrishell was asked: “What’s happening with you and Emma? Hot topic on Reddit.” Chrishell, brutally, replied: “Ask her about her MAGA boyfriend who told me pronouns are dumb and that he likes to use the N word. I just can’t with that. Too old to allow that in. But love her from afar.”

Blake then spoke to MailOnline, and confirmed that yes, he was the reason Emma and Chrishell had fallen out. He gave a *very* formal response to the drama, but basically said Chrishell knows nothing about him, so what she said is baseless.

Blake claimed to have only met Chrishell “a handful of times”, the last time being “a year-and-a-half ago.” He said: “The meeting at Ms Stause’s home took place in January 2024, and this was the last time I saw or spoke to Ms Stause. We are barely acquaintances and we know very little about each other’s beliefs and lives.”

He went on to say that he and Chrishell “have never discussed political views.” Blake added he “does not use derogatory language about anyone.”

He did however admit to once using the wrong pronouns when referring to Chrishell’s partner, G Flip. Blake said: “The only time we had a real conversation was when I met Ms Stause at her house with Emma. I regretfully referred to G Flip as Ms Stause’s wife.

“Ms Stause corrected me that they were partners and that G Flip goes by the pronoun them. Since, I have respectfully used the preferred pronouns.”
