Why Selena Gomez feels ‘cut off’ by Brooklyn and Nicola Beckham as friendship ends for good

This time last year, Selena Gomez was practically part of Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz’s marriage. The trio were inseparable, regularly posting cosy pictures and even joking they were in a “throuple”.

But fast forward to now, and the friendship seems to have completely fallen apart. Sources claim Selena has been left “betrayed” after being frozen out by the couple, just like Brooklyn’s famously strained relationship with his own family.

An insider told the Sun: “There is no love left between the throuple – this trio is an old story. Selena really understands how his parents feel; she just doesn’t get how they could be so cruel.”

The fallout reportedly came to a head last month when Brooklyn, 26, and Nicola, 30, didn’t show up to Selena’s wedding to Benny Blanco. They didn’t even send a message or card to congratulate the couple, leaving Selena “hurt” and confused: “She feels cut off, like they bailed and isolated themselves in a selfish way.”

While friends of Nicola and Brooklyn insist work commitments kept them from attending, others have questioned why the pair couldn’t make time for someone who was once so close to them.

“The fact they didn’t show any effort or love was very disappointing,” another source said.

The couple’s isolation from Selena mirrors their distance from Brooklyn’s family. Neither David nor Victoria Beckham were invited to the couple’s recent vow renewal, reportedly finding out about it only after seeing photos online. Brooklyn was also noticeably absent from the premiere of Victoria’s new Netflix show just days ago.

Selena and Nicola even have matching angel tattoos from their short-lived friendship, on their arms. The singer was first linked to Brooklyn as far back as 2015, and her bond with Nicola had been heavily featured on both of their social media

Once, Selena even captioned a photo of the three of them cuddled up together: “Fine, call us a throuple #foreverplusone”. But according to insiders, that closeness is gone for good.

“Selena hoped her wedding could mark a fresh start,” one said. “Now it’s clear the friendship’s over.”
