Girlies, it’s officially October 3rd: Here are the best pink drinks you can get in Cardiff

Cardiff is just so fetch

Girlies, it’s officially October 3rd, better known as Mean Girls day. If there’s one thing we know about this iconic movie, it’s that pink is the best colour and we must wear it on Wednesdays.

21 years after the film’s release, it’s still popular for its witty jokes and iconic phrases. The best, of course, being that “on Wednesdays we wear pink”.

You may also remember “get in loser, we’re going shopping”. If so, you’ll be pleased to know that, in the name of shopping, we’ve found the best pink drinks you can get this Mean Girls day.

Toadette’s Tipple – NQ64

This retro neon arcade bar on St Mary Street is known for its unique gaming-themed cocktails, with a student discount of 2 for £14.

But the cutest pink one by far is Toadette’s Tipple, which is based on the character of Toadette from the Mario franchise. Its sour flavour of yuzu, lychee and lemon sends a hyper feeling through your veins, and the swirly marshmallow garnish makes you feel like you’re a child again. This cocktail would definitely be Karen’s go-to drink with its fun character but serious flavour. The Toadette Tipple tops the list with the decor and the drink, making it a truly great night out.

Glamour in Pink/This is a Stroberry – Lab22

Lab22 is a popular bar in Cardiff, also known for its perfectly curated cocktails designed in the context of a chemistry lab. Although the Glamour in Pink drink is from its previous menu, it has to be mentioned for its gorgeous aesthetic and flavours.

The strong strawberry taste and beautiful strawberry garnish would be Regina’s classy go-to drink. But the bar’s newly released drink, a Stroberry, would be Gretchen’s beverage of choice, the most “fetch” item on the menu.

Cherry Blossom Lemonade – Wagamama

This is a good non-alcoholic option for those who prefer a sober life. Combined with a comforting meal at Wagamama’s, the Cherry Blossom Lemonade is a simple but incredibly tasty drink – especially with the rose petal garnishing. The glass, the colour and the fizz will make you feel as if you are in a bougie restaurant, but for the price of a budget-friendly meal.

Cady would definitely be lured in by the pink colour, trying to become one of the “The Plastics”. I reckon she’d want to remain the good girl though, so would opt for the alcohol-free item on the menu.

This is the place to go for all Cardiff students who want that adult feel, without having the adult budget.

This drink is a popular go-to (especially in spoons) with its cutesy colour. Don’t let that fool you, though, because there’s enough alcohol in it to send you sideways after a glass or two, making it a perfect combination of pretty and potent.

This drink would definitely be nabbed by Damien. He’d sip away, watching the drama unfold as Regina and Cady argue. I imagine he’d be having a double at the Prince of Wales Wetherspoons and would end up down chippy lane with Janice, getting a doner kebab from Dorothy’s.

Strawberry Matcha – Blwm

A very cute and wholesome coffee shop based in Roath, Blwm is known for having a very good Strawberry Matcha. Yes, it is technically a green drink, but the strawberry adds that hint of pink we all need in our lives. This drink goes to Regina’s Mum as she tries to fit in with the kids and keep up with the trends. As we all know, she’s “not a regular mom, she’s a cool mom”.
