‘Pls give me a day off’: Lola Young issues health update after fainting mid-song in now-viral clip

She cancelled another show over the weekend

Lola Young fully collapsed at a festival concert over the weekend. In the now-viral clip, which racked up 25 million views on Twitter alone, Lola was singing Conceited as she seemingly attempted to communicate with someone offstage. There was a twitch and a stumble, but just a few seconds later, Lola Young collapsed backwards in front of 20,000. The reason she fainted is not currently known, nor whether or not it was related to her diagnosed Schizoaffective disorder.

“I had a tricky couple of days, sometimes life makes you feel that you can’t continue but you know what, I woke up and made the decision to come here,” she’d said just moments before her fainting moment.

Lola has since cancelled another show, so here’s what she’s said about the moment she collapsed on stage.

Lola Young is doing ‘okay’ after she collapsed

Taking to Instagram after the fainting spell, Lola Young did not reveal why she collapsed on stage. That being said, she did update her followers with: “Hi, for anyone who saw my set at all things go today, I am doing okay now. Thank you for all of your support, xxx.”

Lola was due to perform in Washington DC the following day, but after collapsing, she cancelled the show while apologising to her supporters.

“I’m sorry to confirm that I won’t be playing All Things Go in DC today. I love this job and I never take my commitments and audience for granted so I’m sorry to those who will be disappointed by this,” she said on Instagram.

“I hope you’ll all give me another chance in the future. Thank you to all those who listen and care. To all the people that love to be mean online, pls give me a day off.”

Another show was cancelled last week

A day before the fainting spell, Lola Young cancelled another show on Friday “due to a sensitive matter,” her manager, Nick Shymansky, confirmed.

Nick, who was also the manager of the late great Amy Winehouse, said: “There are [occasionally] days where myself and my team have to take protective measures to keep her safe. She is an incredible person and always takes her fans, career and performances seriously. I can only send huge apologies for the inconvenience caused.”
