‘I did not f*** a single person on Riverdale’: Madelaine Petsch shuts down KJ Apa rumours

Madelaine Petsch has declined rumours about the Riverdale co-stars all sleeping together during filming for the show.

A few weeks ago, Riverdale star KJ Apa did an interview with Entertainment Weekly where he said the Riverdale co-stars would regularly sleep together during the filming of the show. He talked about being a virgin when he first joined the series, and shared all the messy details of the hookup culture on set.

But in a new podcast interview where Madelaine Petsch talks all things Riverdale, she wants us to know she wasn’t involved in any of this madness.

“May I set the record straight about something Riverdale actually?” she said on the recent episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast.

“Recently, an article came out saying that we all f*cked each other on the show – I did not touch a single person on that show with a 10-foot pole.”

Madelaine Petsch played Cheryl Blossom for all seven seasons of Riverdale, from 2017 to 2020. She acted alongside KJ Apa, who played Archie Andrews, and Cole Sprouse who played Jughead.

She doubled down on this, setting the record straight once and for all: “It was just like, this article that came out that was like ‘We all f*cked each other, all the time,’ I was like hey, no.”

In the original article, KJ Apa and Outer Banks actress Madelyn Cline talked about the drama that happens with working on a young adult television show.

“There’s a lot of drama that comes on shows like that,” KJ Apa said. “Not to say in like a gossipy kind of way, but it’s just part of the environment, I guess. Part of the deal.”

Madelaine then revealed the real reason why she makes it a rule to never hook up with a co-star, saying: “Cole sat me down during the pilot and was like ‘Don’t hook up with any of your co-stars, okay?’ and I was like okay, got it.”

The actress was 22 when the Riverdale pilot first came out, and Cole Sprouse was 24. It was her first major acting role.

“As he is,” added Alex Cooper, referring to Cole acting against his own rule and sleeping with a co-star, after being in a relationship with fellow Riverdale actress Lili Reinhart, from 2017 to 2020. Madelaine said Cole Sprouse’s words was the best advice she’s ever had, and to this day she still doesn’t sleep with her co-stars.
