Strap in: 27 chaotic summer bucket list items every fresher needs to tick off before uni
From panic buying to stalking your first year flat mates
You’ve passed your A-Levels and got into uni, and with summer slowly drawing to a close, here’s how to make the most of your final weeks. After burning all your revision notes, you find yourself in this weird limbo of waiting to go to uni – no longer at school, but not quite a student yet.
Here’s a list of everything you can add to your summer bucket list before Freshers’ Week to ensure you are truly prepared to become a silly fresher.
1. Panic buy every kitchen utensil
An apple corer – ummm sure you definitely need that!
2. Romanticise your parents’ cooking
One of the most important points on the summer bucket list before Freshers’ Week. Whether you love it or hate it, I can guarantee you’ll miss coming home to a meal cooked for you. Make the most of it now, because before too long, you’ll have to make it all yourself.
3. Go on the final unhinged night out to your home town club
No matter how many times you’ve been and hated it before, you’ve got to give it one last trip down memory lane. Gather all your home friends, get super drunk and say goodbye to your favourite local celebrities.
4. Get ignored in the freshers group chat
Why does it feel worse than getting ignored in person? Like every single fresher is judging you. You panic thinking this is my social life over – everyone will know me and the freak on the group chat?!
5. Pre-uni glow-up

6. Frantically search for your first year flatmates
This one’s for my chronically online girlies! Join every single freshers group chat in hopes of finding your flatmates before actually meeting them. Then, when you can’t find all of them panic because who could they be?!
7. Hook up with your ex one last time
It’s for the memories – right? And hey perhaps you needed some final closure before you move across the country. Relax, we’ve all been there…
