Last weekend, Jamie Lee Curtis went viral for a 30-second Freakier Friday promo video. Everyone was shocked to see the actress in a low-cut jumpsuit instead of her typically quite modest wardrobe.

After days of tweets and comments about her outfit and millions of views across TikTok and Instagram, she decided to respond to the wave of attention.

“I LOVE the fact that the LAST photograph of me as TESS taken backstage in costume from my surprise appearance at @elcapitanthtre to support #freakierfriday has gotten more attention than any other since the announcement post with @lindsaylohan that sparked the movie getting made!” she said in a new Instagram post.

“Happy to help spread the joy that our movie shares!”

The comments are full of people hyping her up.

“I can only hope to be this sexy when I’m older,” one person said.

“The real ones always knew,” said another.

The Oscar-winning actress originally wore the outfit to surprise people at a Tess lookalike screening of Freakier Friday at El Captain Theatre in Los Angeles. She also uploaded a bunch of TikToks in her Tess-inspired costume.

People are praising Jamie Lee Curtis for going against stereotypes of what older women are expected to wear. In a recent interview with The Guardian, she spoke about her struggles finding her style in the public eye.

“There are many, many actresses who love dressing up, who love clothes, who love fashion, who love being a model. I. Hate. It. I feel like I am having to wrestle with your idea of me versus my idea of me. Because I’ve worked hard to establish who I am, and I don’t want you to. I have struggled with it my whole life.”
