So, Toni was handpicked by a Love Island exec who met her in Vegas whilst on his honeymoon
The story of how she was cast is actually wild
Toni Laites was very much scouted for Love Island 2025, as it’s been revealed an exec at the show went all out to make sure she was in the cast. Every year, it comes out whether or not the cast were approached to take part or if they actually applied, but this is the wildest casting story to date.
Toni wasn’t just asked to be an Islander, the top dog at Love Island met her in person, in Las Vegas, and made it happen. He took time out of his actual honeymoon to get the deal done.
Olivia Attwood shared the gossip on her Sunday Roast podcast with Pete Wicks. She said: “You know Mike Spencer, the producer? He found Toni in Vegas, she was a cabana girl – he was on his honeymoon. He met her, got chatting with her and told her, ‘you’d be amazing on Love Island’. That’s how she got on [the show].”

Toni worked as a pool cabana server in Vegas before the show. The Tab found the boujie bar Toni worked in, at it’s hosted the likes of David Guetta, and costs $15k to rent a cabana for the day. It’s called Fontainebleau Las Vegas, and is a hotel, bar and club, offering luxury stays, fine dining, nightlife, and relaxation. It’s located right in the heart of the Vegas Strip. I’m not surprised ITV execs hang out there and think it’s a good place to scout talent!

All this has got people calling the show out as being a “fix”. It does seem strange that someone who the biggest boss was desperate to get in the villa, went on to win it. But, I guess he would have the best eye for who’s going to be an incredible Islander.
Toni won the show this year alongside Cach Mercer. After two nights of public voting, they came out on top. But, it wasn’t a landslide. The public voting figures have since been revealed, and showed the winning pair received 33.5 per cent of the vote, with second place couple Shakira and Harry getting 26.2 per cent.
