Here are the best artists you can see performing at Cardiff Castle this summer

Get those concert group chats ready as we’ve rounded up the top 10 best artists playing at this iconic venue

Cardiff’s creative scene has been buzzing for years, and Depot Live is back for its seventh year at Cardiff Castle, putting on a wide variety of concerts throughout the summer.

Over the next 11 weeks you can go see enough artists from enough genres to make you a concert junkie. By simply following the Cardiff Castle website you can see all of the upcoming events. Tickets can be purchased via Ticketmaster – but they’re selling quickly!

But, if you’re still unsure on who you want to see then follow along this article to see the top 10 artists performing this summer.

1. Snow Patrol – Thursday 12th June 2025

Special guests: Freya Ridings and The Florentinas.

Starting the summer off strong, the indie rock band Snow Patrol is first to take the Castle’s stage on June 12th 2025.

After a sold-out show at the Utilita Arena on their global tour back in February, the band returns to Cardiff to play their iconic songs like Chasing Cars.

All ages love this classic, nostalgic song, and it will never get old singing “If I lay here…” with a crowd full of strangers-turned-friends in this very place.

2. Elbow – Friday 13th June

Special guests: The Coral and Billie Marten

Is rock music up your street? If so, then Elbow is the band you should see in June.

Formed in 1990, the band has a concert atmosphere that is hard to miss. Singing along to One Day Like This will make you feel alive, and I can confirm it is an official swaying song.

3. The Script – Thursday 26th June

Special guest: Tom Walker

Both The Script and Tom Walker are known to heal you if you are in heartbreak. You can sing, you can shout, or you can scream, but their sad and, might I say, relatable songs are just the thing you need if you want to let out your feelings.

The Script’s, The Man Who Can’t Be Moved and Tom Walker’s Leave a Light On are basically live music therapy.

If this sounds like you, then what are you waiting for? Buy those tickets now before they sell out!

4. Sting – Saturday 28th June

Special guests: The Lilacs and Sophie Grey

Sting is an oldie but a goodie. He will blast us back to the 80s, where you can enjoy his songs (maybe with your parents) and fall into that nostalgia.

Get ready to soak in the summer vibes of June while singing along to Every Breath You Take.

This concert will be the perfect moment for slow swaying with your phone torches on as you soak in the summer vibes to Fields of Gold.

5. The Human League – Sunday 6th July

Special guests: Thomas Twins, Tom Bailey and Blancmange

If you’re looking for a bit of old school, then The Human League is definitely for you.

Formed in 1977 (yes, your parents probably love them), their British synth-pop classics like Don’t You Want Me will get everyone dancing.

Think major retro vibes, feel-good energy, and iconic synth-pop anthems all night long. You’ll be all danced out by the end.

6. Rag’n’Bone Man – Sunday 13th July

Special guests: Elles Bailey and Jamie Grey

Rag’n’Bone Man (aka Rory Graham) made it to the top of the charts back in 2016 with his biggest hit, Human.

With his gritty and emotional voice, his concert will hit differently under the summer sky when thinking about life and being “only human after all”.

7. Jess Glynne –  Saturday 26th July

Nothing beats a Jess Glynne concert. If your summer isn’t already giving Jet2Holiday vibes by this point, then buying tickets to see Jess Glynne will fix that for you.

Her anthem Hold My Hand will teleport us all to a holiday abroad.

It’s the perfect soundtrack for dancing in the (hopefully) sun at Cardiff Castle with your friends.

This all-day festival of live music, street food, and entertainment is basically like a holiday with a range of special guests like Sigma and Kate Nash.

8. Fontaines D.C. – Wednesday 30th July

Special guests: Kae Tempest and High Vis

The Irish post-punk legends, Fontaines D.C. have already sold out their show at Cardiff Castle this summer.

After selling out their show at Finsbury Park, London (45,000 people), seeing Fontaines D.C cannot be missed out in your summer plans.

If you’re looking for a band that will bring you post-punk all night long then this concert is for you.

9. Tom Jones – Wednesday 20th August and Thursday 21st August

Special guest: Stone Foundation

Our very own Welsh icon, Tom Jones, returns to Wales with two shows at the Castle this summer and his first show has already sold out!

If you’ve watched The Voice UK, you’ll know the hype. With his iconic sing-alongs, expect to sing the lyrics “It’s not unusual” on repeat. You can bust out the Carlton dance and have a fun night in the Castle, singing along to these catchy songs.

10. Will Smith – Monday 25th August

Special guests: Nile Rodgers and Chic

Wrapping up summer 2025 in style, America’s very own GRAMMY Award-winning artist, Will Smith, takes to the Castle’s stage. Whether you know him from Men in Black, The Fresh Prince, or just love a good throwback song like Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It, get ready to dance, sing, and fully embrace this iconic evening. Plus, if you go, you may get a chance to do a massive Fresh Prince of Bel Air Theme Song sing-along.
