MAFS’ Adrian reveals the TV bride he wanted to marry, and it’s not Awhina or Sierah

Despite being married to Awhina Rutene and having a cheating scandal with Sierah Swepstone, Adrian Araouzou would have preferred a completely different bride on season 12 of MAFS Australia.

I’m not certain you could really call Awhina and Adrian’s time together a marriage, after all, setting aside their clear sexual chemistry, they just didn’t seem to click. This was largely why it wasn’t really surprising that Adrian was involved in a cheating scandal with Billy Belcher’s on-screen wife, Sierah. Adrian and Sierah consistently claimed they were just friends, but nearly a year later, they’re no longer on speaking terms, which would suggest there’s something deeper to the story.

Nonetheless, setting Awhina and Sierah aside, there was one bride with whom Adrian could have seen a future with.

Which bride did MAFS’ Adrian actually want to marry?

Though Awhina had said that Adrian should have been matched with Jacqui Burfoot, something neither she nor Clint Rice reacted well to, Adrian himself believes his best match was with backup bride Maxine.

During a recent Q&A on Instagram, Adrian said that “Awhina aside”, he and Maxine had “a lot in common”, including owning businesses and living in Sydney. Five million people are living in Sydney, so at least Adrian’s got some options.

It’s not the first time Adrian has lorded over Maxine, having earlier told viewers to back off because he was also having the feels for his backup bride.

Though Maxine is yet to respond to Adrian’s comments, she did tell Yahoo Lifestyle that her date with the incoherent red flag “went well.” It’s hardly resounding praise, but as we’ve seen with all things Adrian Araouzou, it could have been worse.

“My date with Adrian went well. I mean, it was pretty scary and unnatural for me to have a camera filming me, but Adrian seemed comfortable with it, which helped,” Maxine recalled.

“I think they matched us because I said I liked dark features. I don’t know anything else [about Adrian] because I haven’t watched the show, but living with a stranger for three months, there would’ve been some butting heads!”
