Um, Jamie secretly tried to meet up with the backup MAFS date Dave rejected?!

She admitted she was ‘disappointed’ Dave didn’t go on a date with someone else

Jamie has defended her decision to go on a date during MAFS Australia, and has actually said she’s disappointed her groom Dave didn’t do the same. During final test week, Jamie was stood up by her date, but did want to meet him. Despite their relationship being rocky, Dave thought it best to sit the challenge out, and he didn’t meet his other potential bride.

Following the episode airing, Jamie has shared how she would have felt if Dave had gone on his date too, and made it very clear that she didn’t cross any boundaries by going on hers. She also revealed she reached out to production, to see if she could meet up with the woman Dave didn’t want to.

“I wouldn’t have judged Dave for meeting up with the other person because I actually really wanted to know what this woman was like,” Jamie told 9Entertainment. “I just pictured someone the complete opposite to me – someone really chilled, an adventurer with six dogs and I’m kind of disappointed because I wanted to know what she was like.”

She added she asked production if she could meet up with the woman the experts thought Dave was compatible with, but they didn’t let her. Jamie excused her decision to go on her date, and said to her and Dave it wasn’t viewed as cheating – like it was for other couples.

“Some people made it very clear that would be cheating. Dave and I were a bit more relaxed and jokey in the sense that we both have friends of the opposite sex,” she said. Jamie argued her decision to go on the date came with “no bad intentions” and “no malice”. She said it was just “from a place of curiosity”.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Jamie excused her actions further. “Let’s be clear, it wasn’t a date,” she insisted. “If you heard me say the word ‘meet-up’ a million times, that’s because I wanted to make it very clear I wasn’t cheating. I even made sure the girls were covered and the Vans were on – I’m conservative at heart!”

She added: “Honestly, Dave and I are very chill. We’ve both got friends of the opposite sex. I work in a nightclub – it’s a very male-dominated space. We’ve always been open about those things since our honeymoon.

“I genuinely wanted to know what the experts thought my type was. I’ve always been all over the place when it comes to men. I think, subconsciously, I just wanted validation — to be reminded why they matched me with Dave.”
