She features a lot in the new Netflix documentary
Gabby Petito’s friend Rose Davis features in the new American Murder Netflix documentary, recalling the close friendship they had before her tragic murder.
The 22-year-old was killed by her boyfriend Brian Laundrie in August 2021 and Rose said she always felt unsure about him but never thought he’d be so cruel.
So, who actually is Rose and what is she doing now? Let’s take a look inside her life.

Who is Gabby Petito’s friend Rose?
Rose was born in Blairstown, New Jersey but now lives in Sarasota, Florida, after her parents relocated there. That’s about a 30-minute drive from Brian’s parents’ home in North Port, where Gabby was living.
As the documentary details, the pair met through Bumble BFF. Both of them didn’t know anyone in Florida as they only recently moved there, so were using the popular app to find new friends.
Gabby was the one who reached out first, saying Rose seemed “so cool” and “fun as hell”. They met up for the first time in early 2020 and became totally inseparable for the next year until she left for the “Van Life” trip.
“Neither of us had any friends. She had texted me, saying ‘You seem so cool. I really want to be your friend. Can we be friends?’ And I was like, ‘Yes, I’d be happy to be your friend’,” she told the MailOnline.
Rose said they “went everywhere together” and she would always tell people “she was my emotional service human”. She tried to tell Gabby that Brian was too “controlling” but ultimately just wanted her friend to be happy.
@roseaye2 I know yall want Gabby content, but respect that it’s hard to have to post the same memories because you will never get new photos or videos…understand that I had to move forward and not just be “Gabby Petitos best friend” but also Rose. I miss her everyday, I think of her all the time, I wish I still had my friend here on earth…but I can’t dwell in that…I will always love her and remember her…she will always be my best friend…#gabbypetito #netflix #growth

She’s helping other women like Gabby
She’s also doing some activism to help other women like Gabby and shared a GoFundMe link to help another family who lost their daughter to domestic violence.
“Anything will help her family and is greatly appreciated… nothing will end the violence and pain that has been forced onto this family,” she wrote.
“But it will help them have one less thing to stress while they begin to grieve and try to process this senseless and unnecessary action…please click the link and donate or at least share.”
