Ranked: The huge amounts of cash the Dragons have each invested in the den over the years

I can’t even comprehend having this much money, let alone giving it away

Dragons’ Den is all about splashing the cash, and over the years the panel has invested millions in hopeful entrepreneurs who came up the famous lift.

In research, it’s been said a huge £15,593,668 has been spent in the den over the 20 years of the show. But how much of that has been spent my the current lineup? And how much money have they each parted with?

A UK-based venture capital firm has done the maths and revealed the amount of money each investor on BBC’s Dragons’ Den has invested. Here’s a full ranking of the Dragons’ Den investors, by who has invested the most cash in the den over the years. Spoiler: It’s a lot.

Steven Bartlett – £1.4million

Out of the permanent panel, Steven Bartlett is the newest. So, it’s not overly surprising that he’s invested the least so far. However what is surprising is that the *lowest* amount invested, is still well over a million pounds. According to the research, Steven has invested in 30 companies, with an average investment of £51,841. His investments total to £1,491,500.

Sara Davies – £1.5million

via BBC

Up next is teleshopping queen, Sara Davies. She’s spent a grand total of £1,534,000. She has joined forces with 23 entrepreneurs over the years.

Touker Suleyman – £1.6million

Touker has dished out a casual £1,615,666 in investments. He’s been a Dragon for 10 years now, and has had 37 deals.

Up next is Deborah. She’s also reported to have bagged 37 deals, totalling her outlays to £2,643,001. She’s worth an estimated £40million, mainly from working in the retail and leisure industries.

Peter Jones – £3million

Dragons' Den who has invested the most cash

via BBC

Are we shocked that Dragons’ Den titan Peter Jones has invested the most cash over the years? He’s shelled out a whopping £3,050,499 in the 20 (yes, 20!) years he’s been in the den. But, I don’t think he’s that fussed – Peter is still a billionaire.
