These six Russell Group unis are officially among the most overcrowded in the world

Do you even have room to breathe in Manchester?

Have you ever planned to spend a super productive afternoon studying in the library, and found that literally every space is full? Some UK unis are way more pressed for space than others. The tutoring site Edumentors worked out which the most overcrowded universities in the world are, and six of the UK’s Russell Group unis actually made the top 20.

To calculate this, Edumentors figured out how many staff and students are lurking at each then divided that number by the size of each campus.

Two London unis are in the top 20 most overcrowded unis – University College London (UCL) and Imperial College London. I guess because both of these unis are based in the middle of London, the unis are pressed on space? It must be hard to expand your campus if the River Thames is in the way.
