People slam ‘dehumanising’ video of man recreating Squid Game with real homeless people

A man offered the homeless bread or a scratchcard

Squid Game has been a huge success for Netflix, but some people have taken the show way too far. People on Reddit are horrified after watching a disturbing video of a man recreating a Squid Game challenge using real homeless people. The video is currently at the top of the Squid Game subreddit, and a user has titled it “Genuinely s****y human recreates the Squid Game with real homeless people.”

In the video, an unidentified man goes around to many homeless people and offers them a sad-looking piece of bread or a scratchcard, just like the recruiter did in the first episode of Squid Game season two. He films looking down at the homeless person and watches as most of them choose the scratchcard.

After losing the scratchcard, the two homeless people in the video hand back the coin and watch as the cameraman angrily stomps on the bread, making it inedible for consumption.

Many people on Reddit have been outraged by the video and its “dehumanising” nature.

One user was quick to critique the creator: “Why would this guy do it IRL bruh? Ok cause fame but that’s dehumanising. Like, the point of the Salesman is to mock and dehumanize homeless people for their decision to boost his ego by treating them as subhuman. Why would you do what villains do IRL?”

Another said: “It’s a waste of money to just squish the bread/rip the lottery ticket either way and it’s just a really sh***y thing to do. Literally, what did the homeless guy do to deserve that? homeless people are just trying to survive.”

Somebody wrote how the salesman guy was the biggest “psychopath” of the show, and compared his actions to the video: “It’s a false choice, and Squid Game 2 shows this salesman guy to be an absolute sociopath/psychopath. They prey on vulnerable, desperate people for their own amusement.”
