Ouch! Player 120 actor Park Sung-hoon apologises after sharing X-rated parody of Squid Game 2
To make matters worse, South Korea is currently observing a week-long national mourning period
Park Sung-hoon, who portrays trans character Player 120 in Squid Game season two, has apologised for the hurt he caused after sharing an NSFW post about the Netflix show.
Though his casting was somewhat wrapped in controversy, Sung-hoon’s portrayal of Cho Hyun-ju – a character hoping to fund her gender reassignment surgeries with the winnings – has been subjected to rave reviews. She quickly became a standout character and I can’t wait to see the rest of her journey in next year’s season three.
Despite the pouring of love, Park Sung-hoon has now come under fire. Let’s take a look.
Park Sung-hoon allegedly clicked the wrong button
Park Sung-hoon’s 1.9 million Instagram followers were confronted by a major shock earlier this week when the actor shared an explicit screenshot on his story. As per screenshots now widely shared across Twitter, the image showed several nude women taking part in a parody of the Netflix show called Squirt Games.
The picture was quickly deleted but not before images of the Chinese porn creation were shared across Twitter and Reddit. Following the backlash, Sung-hoon’s agency BH Entertainment issued a statement to Korea JoongAng Daily.
“Actor Park accidentally posted the image, which he received in a direct message, by mistakenly pressing the wrong button. The actor himself was also very shocked,” they told the publication. “He is deeply sorry for making such a mistake in these circumstances and promises to be especially careful to ensure it doesn’t happen again.”

The awkward blunder has divided Twitter, with some people suggesting he should be pulled from his upcoming romantic project The Tyrant’s Chef or risk facing a boycott. To make matters worse, South Korea is currently observing a week-long national mourning period in honour of the people who died in a recent plane crash.

“The way Park Sung-hoon had one of the most rooted characters in Squid Game now he gonna pull this disgusting sh*t,” one person said on Twitter.
Someone else wrote: “Player 120 was such a great character that I hate that Park Sung-hoon doesn’t even respect her. Uploading porn related to Hyun-ju on his Instagram wasn’t an accident at all. Disgusting.”
But not everyone agrees, as one person explained: “This Park Sung-hoon situation is actually not that big of a deal as people are making it seem at least for me. Y’all keep putting these actors on a pedestal when they’ve shown time and time again they’re shitty humans and then act surprised when they do shitty/weird things.”
Just to clear things up quickly, I absolutely despise park sung hoon for what he's done, but I still love hyun-ju, because she's just a character played by someone, it could've been anyone who did. So I won't change my layout but I do not support park sung hoon.

“Oh, Jesus. Some people are making way too much of a fuss over what happened with Park Sung-hoon’s Instagram. Are you all saints or something? Yes, he made a mistake, but plenty of people make even worse mistakes… so what? Are you seriously going to cancel him over this?” another argued.
