‘Big Bird, Sesame’: It’s a bop, but where is the contagious TikTok sound actually from?

I’m a hardcore fan of The Northern Boys and Pete and Bas, but the incessant Big Minge Energy sound doing the round on TikTok right now is too much even for me.

Whether it’s the first or the 100th time you’ve heard the tune, you have to admit it’s impossible not to join in – and that’s what’s so infuriating about it. What do you mean I’ve got a song about big minge energy stuck in my head all day? It’s not ok.

Here’s where the Big Minge Energy TikTok sound is from

The clip is actually taken from a remixed song by our beloved Pete & Bas, but it’s not any old track they’ve spat out. As we know, the verse is performed (and perfected) by a woman, another rapper who actually goes by the name of Queen Vic.

The track is a remix of Mugshot Freestyle by The Northern Boys and was released in November. But it’s really taken off on TikTok recently, with my entire FYP being people screaming about Big Bird, Sesame. And the wildest part? Queen Vic is actually insanely old.

With her East London charm, Queen Vic is a vibe in herself, and her verse is actually her debut in the world of rap. I’m sorry, but she’s a natural. Don’t even get me started on that fur coat. I’m prepared to set aside my animal cruelty views for that serve. I’m not a vegan, Vic, I swear.
