All the times grumpy icon Hugh Grant hilariously ranted about how much he hates the world
He despises backpacks, leaf blowers and water bottles
The festive season wouldn’t be complete without watching Love Actually. Hugh Grant plays the super grumpy but hilarious Prime Minister in the film, but did you know he’s actually like that in real life?!
On many occasions, the actor has spoken about how much he hates the world. From slow walkers to people with backpacks, he literally despises so many things. Here is a hilarious roundup of all his rants.
He hates slow walkers, backpacks, and water bottles
In an interview with Absolute Radio, the actor said: “I am one enormous pet peeve. That’s all I do. I walk up around the streets peeving. I don’t like people walking slowly. I don’t like people with backpacks. I don’t like people with backpacks on their FRONT?!
He went on to say he doesn’t like people with backpacks and water bottles, which took him into a whole new rant about water bottles too, adding: “I don’t like water bottles. What’s the whole water bottle thing? Why do my children have to go to school with a water bottle? They have to cart water across London. What’s wrong with a drinking fountain?”
Leaf blowers and roadworks annoy him too
The actor wasn’t done yet. In the same interview, he went on to call out leaf blowers and roadworks that specifically have no people working on them before saying he’s “pretty much Larry David”. That’s the hilariously brilliant actor and comedian who created Seinfeld.
“I think that anyone who uses a leaf blower or hires anyone else to use a leaf blower should have it rectally inserted,” he also said during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers.
@absoluteradio Who knew one person could have THIS many pet peeves? 🫣 #hughgrant #petpeeves #heretic #larrydavid #loveactually #waterbottle #backpacking #fyp #foryoupagе #videos

In another interview with the Radio Times, the actor spoke about how much he hates mobile phones and enjoyed being away from his while filming his 2020 series The Undoing, saying: “I hate my phone. For the first time in ages, I spent 14 blissful hours at work without it.”
“It was like being in 1994 again. Between set-ups, I studied my lines, I read a book or I talked to people. It was really nice,” the actor continued. “Phones are terrible things. They are toxic. I think they’re killing us.”
He also hates people who walk noisily, and backpacks again
It’s not just slow walkers that annoy him, it’s noisy ones too. Speaking to Seth Meyers, he said: “What’s with the clip-clop clip-clop?” When the presenter asked “Isn’t that a footwear issue though?” he added: “I don’t really give a damn what it is. Don’t clip-clop behind me when I’m hungover.”
In the same interview, he also went back to the whole backpack thing, ranting once again: “Why has everyone got a backpack? Take it off. Take it off.” He finds it really annoying when he’s on the Subway and there’s someone’s huge backpack in his face.
