The most iconic I’m A Celeb catchphrase of 2024 has to go to this legendary campmate
It will go down in history
It feels like it’s only just started, but I’m A Celeb 2024 is already almost over.
The celebrities have been in the jungle for more than two weeks now, and the winner will be crowned on Sunday, 8 December.
From Danny dressed up as a pencil to GK Barry and Richard’s random friendship, there have been some pretty iconic moments.
However, one of the best parts of the series has to be this year’s iconic catchphrase, Maura’s absolutely hilarious: “Sorry, Father.”

The Irish Love Islander repeatedly says “Sorry Father” to Reverend Richard Coles every time she does something wrong.
From swearing to filthy jokes, anything that is a little bit naughty is followed by a legendary apology to the priest. It’s even funnier when the “Sorry Father” is followed by a “sweet baby Jesus” too.
Maura started doing it straight away when she and Richard were put into the Junkyard camp on their own. The pair got along like a house on fire, and Maura quickly adopted the nickname “Father” for him.
Minutes after they first met, the 34-year-old said “Jesus Christ” and then followed it up with: “Oh sorry Father, I say Jesus Christ a lot.”
He responded with a brilliant joke that solidified their instant friendship, saying: “It’s alright. Don’t worry I say it a lot too, but it’s my job.”
In the Bush Telegraph, Maura then added: “First impressions of Richard, I absolutely love him. But also I swear a lot, and I’m not sure if I’m gonna be able to help my potty mouth. I’m just gonna have to keep apologising to him.”

However, the funniest part is, he’s not even a Father at all! A Father is a male priest in a Catholic church, but Richard is a former Church of England vicar. He doesn’t seem to mind though.

People are totally obsessed with the brilliant catchphrase, with one person writing on X: “Maura with the ‘Sorry, Father’. Gets me every time.”
“Obsessed with Maura saying ‘Sorry Father’ every time she said something rude. Need a travel show with them two immediately,” said another.
This has been the best I’m A Celeb series in a really long time.
