Ranking every incredibly unsuccessful MAFS UK season by how many couples are still together
The first few seasons were a disaster
With MAFS UK 2024 coming to a close, there have now been nine seasons of the dating show but some have been far more successful than others in terms of who’s still together. Some seasons have resulted in lifelong commitment becoming solidified and families started together, whilst others have every couple breaking up mere weeks after the show has finished.
It’s clear not all MAFS UK seasons are equal in terms of how successful they are, so let’s rank all the seasons by how many couples from that year are still together now, and have the tissues at the ready.
9. MAFS UK 2016 season one – no couples still together
It’s safe to say the first season of the show didn’t go great, with one of the couples not even managing to make it down the aisle together and another ending their relationship on the show. Unsurprisingly none of the couples from eight years ago are still together.
8. MAFS UK 2017 season two – no couples still together
The second season didn’t fare much better and whilst three of the couples managed to make it out to the end, with some even moving in together, none of them made it past the 12 month mark. Yikes!
7. MAFS UK 2018 season three – no couples still together
Most Read
Season three was very dramatic with one of the grooms running away to Portugal whilst midway through filming before winning his wife back by whisking her away to Cyrpus, as you do. Once again, none of the couples from season three are still together and judging by how they all treated each other it’s probably for the best!
6. MAFS UK 2019 season four – no couples still together
Season four didn’t bring too much inane drama with one couple splitting as they simply weren’t “fitting together” and as a result, none of the couples who made it to final vows are still together today.
5. MAFS UK 2024 season nine – one couple potentially back together
Right, I was hesitant to include this couple as I don’t think anyone really knows what’s going on with them, with Holly and Alex being the couple in question.
Whilst Alex and Holly broke up on the show the only two couples who actually did make it to final vows have split, with Sacha and Ross in a bit of a feud and Lacey and Nathan shading each other in interviews.
But after the show finished filming it looked like the pair had decided to reconnect with pictures of them kissing as well as sources claiming they were “giving their relationship another go.”
However, in a recent Q&A, Holly admitted they had never got back together and were only trying to “work on their friendship.” So let’s count this as a tentative couple who could be back together.
4. MAFS UK 2023 season eight – one couple still together
Season eight could have taken the first place podium, but as Tasha and Paul sadly broke up last week it’s been demoted to fourth place. Luckily for us Shona and Matt are still together and still very adorable together.
Whilst Shona was originally paired with Brad during MAFS UK 2023, and Matt with Adrienne the pair actually ended up hitting it off after the first reunion.
They told OK! Magazine at the time that they had an “instant attraction” to each other at the reunion and Matt asked Shona out for coffee soon afterwards.
They recently moved into a new house together and are currently in the process of renovating it, something Shona is documenting on her TikTok. They also got an adorable Italian greyhound puppy together and spent this summer travelling around Italy before attending one of their close friend’s weddings. Very chic!
3. MAFS UK 2022 season seven – one couple still together
Zoe and Jenna were the first lesbian couple to ever appear on MAFS UK during the 2022 series, and as couples go they’re very much still together. Two years after first appearing on the show the pair adorably announced their engagement to each other.
Jenna revealed: “We’ve been keeping a little secret… A week ago the absolute love of my life asked me to marry her. From me being a little slow on the uptake, thinking Zoe had just gone a little overboard for date night to Bobo setting himself on fire, it was perfect and chaotic and just very ‘us.’
“Not to be cliché but I genuinely didn’t think that this type of love actually existed, to have someone who loves you, cares and respects you as much as you do them, is the most incredible feeling.. and now I get to marry my best friend instead of a stranger!
“I guess we have a particular TV show to thank for setting us up on the wildest first date ever.. so thank you @e4mafsuk @e4grams. I adore you @zoeclifton.. We are going to make the cutest little old married lesbian couple ever!!! And what a way to celebrate Pride month.”
2. MAFS UK 2021 season six – one couple still together
Tayah and Adam are another MAFS UK couple who are still together and are a huge success story. They met in the 2021 series and announced the birth of their daughter in 2022, going on to get legally married the year after. In fact their vow renewal has to go down as the most romantic in history given he literally proposed to Taylah during it.
Tayah told OK! Magazine about their wedding day, revealing: “It was such a beautiful day, everything went so amazingly well. But I think because I held it together during the day, it all hit me later on and I got quite emotional.”
The pair recently announced they’re expecting another baby together and it’s all very wholesome.
1. MAFS UK 2020 season five – two couples still together
Season five takes the crown for the most successful MAFS UK season of all time, with two couples from the show still being together, although we didn’t actually ever get to meet one of them… Let me explain!
Michelle and Owen met in season five of MAFS UK in 2020 and since then they’ve legally married and had their first baby, Jess, in 2023.
The pair revealed: “The best Christmas gift in the world. So overwhelmed with messages and kindness from everyone, thank you all so much.”
The next pair didn’t actually meet on the show but they were supposed to, it’s just their wedding got cancelled because of the pandemic but they ended up getting married anyway!
Ally and Paul Todd’s wedding was cancelled just two days before they were supposed to film but they asked to meet regardless and in June 2024 the pair got married. I’m genuinely welling up.
Ally emotionally said: “We’re so thankful to the experts. I’m a bit of a hopeless romantic- I always wanted my dream guy and I got him.”
