Video shows man clinging to car bonnet as it drives down the A48 in Cardiff
The driver has now been arrested on suspicion of assault
Video footage has been released showing a man clinging to a car’s bonnet whilst it drives down the A48 into Cardiff.
The 74-year-old driver of the car has now been arrested on suspicion of assault, following the incident.
The video was recorded by the dashcam of a witness travelling eastbound in Penylan around 2:50pm.
The witness then reported the incident to the police, who confirmed that they had received “numerous calls” about the incident
According to the unnamed person, the car’s windscreen was broken and the vehicle moving “super slow” along the busy junction.
The spokesman for South Wales Police told Wales Online: “At around 2.45pm yesterday, police in Cardiff were called to an incident on the westbound carriageway of the A48 approaching the University Hospital of Wales following a report of a man holding onto the front of a car as it travelled along the road.
“The 74-year-old male driver of the car was arrested on suspicion of assault and is currently at Cardiff Bay police station. The matter remains under investigation.”
