There’s an enormous editing error in Gilmore Girls and it’s actually painful to watch
I’m ashamed of myself for not picking up on this
So I would like to consider myself a fairly seasoned Gilmore Girls watcher, but embarrassingly I never managed to pick up on this huge editing error. And sadly I can take absolutely no credit for spotting the editing error, as TikTok user @syddamarvich8 was the one who first pointed it out.
During season three, episode 16 called The Big One, Lorelai and Sookie are sitting outside on a porch bench together. We can very clearly see them sitting pretty much shoulder to shoulder, I mean seriously they’re very cosy on this bench together.
The camera then switches to individual shots of Sookie and Lorelai talking, and this is where the Gilmore Girls editing error comes into play. When it cuts to either Sookie or Lorelai you would expect to almost see the other in the corner of the shot because they were sat close together.
But instead it’s completely empty and very clear that either the other is sat at the opposite of the bench or they shot it on different days and the other actress just fully isn’t there. It’s one of those ones that you can’t unsee once you’ve noticed it.
And that isn’t the only dubious editing error in Gilmore Girls as there’s another Lorelai related one in season three, episode 10 called That’ll Do, Pig. During the episode Rory and Jess go into Luke’s quickly followed by Lorelai who comes in separately from them.

However, if you look closely you can very clearly see the actress waiting outside of Luke’s awkwardly waiting for her cue to enter the coffee shop. It’s all very strange!
