Bollywood star at King’s: Ibrahim Ali Khan seen shooting for latest film on Strand campus
Bollywood superstar Ibrahim Ali Khan was spotted shooting for upcoming film ‘Diler’
Bollywood superstar, Ibrahim Ali Khan was spotted outside the Maughan Library accompanied by a film crew, extras, and police officers to shoot a scene for his upcoming film “Diler”.
King’s students trying to get to and from Maughan amidst the beginning of the semester crowded around the actor to catch a glimpse as Chancery Lane’s road was closed off.
Some of Khan’s crew members told students that they were shooting for Diler, a sports drama scheduled to be released in summer 2025.
Scenes are presumably happening on campus due to the “crucial marathon sequence” that is being shot in London. Shooting began in Mumbai, India but is being continued in London to maintain authenticity.
However, filming was meant to begin in August, but it was postponed until now due to the recent race riot which caused safety concerns for the cast and crew.
Diler, written by Darab Farooqui is being directed by Kunal Deshmukh, and Indian-American star Sreeleela, who will be starring alongside Ibrahim.
Ibrahim is seemingly following in the footsteps on his father Saif Ali Khan known for blockbusters like “Kal Ho Naa Ho” and “Race”, and although there is very little information known about the upcoming film, students claim to have seen Ibrahim having pictures taken with a dog as well as a scene involving a man being arrested by Met Police.
Shooting is expected to continue until late October, and scheduled to end right on time for Diwali.
