Leo defends his angry rant at Hannah that left her in tears in the Love Is Blind pods
‘I don’t know if I could have done anything any different’
Leo has defended his angry rant at Hannah in the Love Is Blind pods and said despite it causing her to break down in tears, he doesn’t think he could have handled the situation any differently.
In the first batch of season seven episodes, Hannah ended things with Leo in the pods to pursue Nick instead, which ended in Leo completely losing his cool and yelling at her. Leo claimed Hannah was only choosing Nick because he was “the first person to say ‘I love you’” and got pretty aggressive with her over her decision. The conversation reduced Hannah to tears.
Then, Leo decided Brittany was the better match for him, and he went on to propose to her instead. The couple got engaged, and it was later revealed their story was not going to be followed on the show, and Leo and Brittany had since called off their engagement.
Now, Leo has spoken out about his rage-filled rant at Hannah in the pods, and if he regrets how he handled the situation. “I definitely lost my cool,” he told PEOPLE. “I wish that I could have handled it with maybe a bit more grace.”
He then defended his actions, and added: “At the same time, I was really vulnerable, and it’s not something that I’m used to doing. I got really hurt [and] I acted in a way that wasn’t my best self. So while I regret how fiery I might have gotten, I don’t know if I could have done anything any different because I was just so open.

“And sometimes when you’re open and you get hurt, you act in ways that you wouldn’t act if you were a little more guarded off.” Leo went on to say that his “ego was hurt” by Hannah breaking up with him.
When asked if he would’ve proposed to Hannah had she not ended things first, Leo insisted: “Brittany was my top choice. I still think I would’ve proposed to Brittany. It’s okay. I got broken up with. There’s no shame in that. It happened. But I still really would’ve gone for Brittany. That’s what I was planning on going for before the conversation with Hannah.”
Hannah told PEOPLE she was “shocked” at how Leo reacted to her, and said she hadn’t expected him to yell at her, because she knew he was speaking to Brittany as well.
She called his reaction “confusing” and said: “I think how someone handles difficult rejection, it really shows a lot about them. And so maybe he just didn’t handle rejection that well.” Hannah also said that no matter what had happened, Nick was always going to be her top choice.
