Britain has spoken: These are officially the most Brat politicians, according to the public

Ed Davey is SO Brat

Summer 2024 has been dominated by one theme and one theme only: Brat. And this week, polling company Ipsos published the most important poll it has produced in its decades long history, detailing who the British public perceive to the most brat politicians in the UK.

Frankly, no poll in history has been as significant. It produced some interesting results, including that only one per cent of people who responded said that they didn’t know what “brat” meant. Charli has officially taken over the UK. So without further ado, this is an official ranking of how Brat British politicians are, according to the public.

Rachel Reeves – 10 per cent Brat

It’d be pretty hard to not be Brat as the first female chancellor, and Rachel Reeves is more than up to the task. One of the main proponents of the chic Labour frontbench bob, Rachel Reeves can always be trusted to bring the Brat vibes.

Suella Braverman – 11 per cent Brat

11 per cent of Britons thinking Suella is Brat is a win for her, after a tough few weeks in which she tried to run for Tory leader, but couldn’t even get enough supporters to sign the nomination form. I don’t think she’s very Brat, but I’ll let her take the victory, it’s hard not to feel sorry for her.

Ed Davey – 11 per cent Brat

I think Ed Davey is very Brat – and 11 per cent of Britons agree. The Lib Dem leader was living that life and having the Brattest of Brat summers before the term was on anyone’s lips. Given how insanely Brat his all-singing, all-dancing election was, you have to wonder if he had inside knowledge of the upcoming brat wave.

Jeremy Corbyn – 13 per cent Brat

Once again, Jeremy Corbyn has been beaten by Boris Johnson and Keir Starmer. According to 13 per cent of the British public, Jeremy Corbyn is Brat, which is a good result for him.

Rishi Sunak – 15 per cent Brat

Via YouTube

15 per cent of people answered that they think Rishi Sunak is Brat. Looking at that, we have to wonder if some people didn’t quite get exactly what Brat was. That being said, taking your entire party, your MPs and your cabinet by surprise and calling an election seemingly because you’re bored pumps up Dishy Rishi’s Brat points in my book.

Liz Truss – 15 per cent Brat

15 per cent of the British public think Liz Truss is Brat, and although she’s a dark horse in this competition, it really does make sense. Chaotic, volatile and perhaps even a little promiscuous, Liz fits the Brat profile. Official styling herself as Liz Truss, when her real name is Mary Elizabeth is immensely Brat behaviour, as is being a pro-weed, Republican, Lib Dem at university, then making a unbelievable 180 switch to becoming a Tory Prime Minister.

Keir Starmer – 17 per cent Brat

For Keir Starmer, the Brat doesn’t quite shine through as much, but 17 per cent of the British public still said he was the most brat politician in the UK. If rumours about his past are to be believed, they might be onto something – the Prime Minister was a friend of Bridget Jones’ author Helen Fielding at Leeds University and apparently, she based Colin Firth’s character in the movies on Keir.

Angela Rayner – 17 per cent Brat

In the only close competition Labour has faced this year, Keir Starmer and Angela Rayner are tied on 17 per cent in the Brat rankings. The Deputy PM’s Brat credentials need no exaggeration, she truly lives, breathes and embodies Brat just as much, if not more, than Charli herself. The video above demonstrates that perfectly, and it was pretty difficult to pick that one out of the many, many examples of Ange’s Brat behaviour.

Nigel Farage – 18 per cent Brat

Second most Brat, Nigel Farage, closely followed the winner by just one per cent behind with 17 per cent of the British public believing him to be Brat. According Charli XCX herself,  if someone is Brat, they are “honest, blunt and a little bit volatile.” While no would guess that almost one in five people would say so, according to this definition Nigel has to be Brat.

Boris Johnson – 19 per cent Brat

“Boris topped the polls.” No, you’ve not gone back five years in a time machine, don’t panic. According to the poll, 19 per cent of the British public think Boris Johnson is Brat, meaning he pipped the competition by one per cent. And it’s hard to disagree with the wisdom of the crowds on this one. When you think about it, Boris really is as brat as they come – messy, chaotic, perhaps a little wild.
