‘Not terribly pleasant’: Dan Stevens just dragged Hunter Schafer’s experience on Euphoria

‘It was refreshing and delightful for her to realise not every job needs to be like Euphoria’

Dan Stevens has absolutely savagely spoken about Hunter Schafer’s experience working on the set of Euphoria, in a new interview  discussing his acclaimed upcoming horror film Cuckoo in which he stars with Schafer. There have been numerous reports of unpleasantness emerging about working on the set of Euphoria, and if what Dan Stevens has said is accurate it seems like Hunter Schafer must have been talking to him about what it was like filming.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Dan Stevens spoke about working with Hunter Schafer on Cuckoo. Cuckoo is a bizarre science fiction horror film which sees Hunter Schafer move to the German Alps to live with her father, only to get embroiled in a sinister plot revolving around her dad’s weird boss – played by Dan Stevens. It releases in the UK next week – and apparently things get super freaky.

Dan Stevens said filming the disturbing scenes with Hunter Schafer in Cuckoo were a better experience than what she had working on Euphoria. Stevens explained “Her only experience prior to this was working on Euphoria, which is a very, very different experience, and by all accounts, not a terribly pleasant one. I think it was refreshing and delightful for her to realize that not every job needs to be like Euphoria. It was nice to be able to present that and to be a part of that.

“We can still shoot this incredibly f*cked-up, difficult scene, but everybody’s still friends at the end of the day and nobody needs to have months of therapy afterwards.”

Yikes. Can’t wait to see this film, though. Dan Stevens and Hunter Schafer linking up is a thing of dreams.
