She emotionally explained: “I was just thinking that I might ask people to be thinking about me because I have to go to the hospital tomorrow and have surgery to replace one of my knees. It’s already been replaced once. It’s something like my 25th or 26th surgery… I’ve kind of lost count. 50 years ago, some drunk teenagers were drag racing down the wrong side of the road and hit me, and I broke every bone below my waist but one.”

She continued: “I’ve been trying to put myself back together for 50 years… if you ever notice that Meemaw limps, it’s because I limp – because somebody made a bad choice. When you’re out there this summer partying, please don’t drink and drive… it might hurt somebody.”

The rest of the Young Sheldon cast have been sending their on-screen grandma well wishes, with Raegan Revord writing: “You are such a rockstar and I love you!” Iain Armitage added: “You are absolutely amazing! Love you, Meemaw and sending you so much love!”

Hopefully she will make a speedy recovery!
