She had all the gear and looked cool as a cucumber, but today’s icon of the Paris Olympics is still a shooter but he is who Turkey sent and we are obsessed with him for the exact opposite reason. Yusuf Dikec has stolen the hearts of us all because he rocked up in a t-shirt, no hearing aids, no specialised lenses and just bagged a silver medal. It is literally so iconic.

Yusuf has just instantly gone viral because of everyone asking: “Did Turkey send a hitman to the Olympics?” Like, has any athlete ever been so blasé about competing? He looks like he does this in his sleep. Maybe he does.

Olympics shooters usually used specialised glasses and lenses so they can maximise their vision and senses when shooting their shot, but the Turkey shooter at the Paris Olympics proves that maybe sometimes all you need is raw skill and an easy breezy vibe. King shit, really.

The Paris Olympics so far has just been viral athlete after viral athlete – and it’s even more delicious that Tom Daley is trying his hardest to go viral with his boring knitting when we’ve got South Korean and Turkish shooters making waves – not even mentioning the nerdy American guy with the pommel horse. What a time to be sporting it up.
