Jess from Love Island has finally reacted to everyone roasting her for saying ‘I’m the prize’

‘My mum said I said it seven times in one episode’

| UPDATED

Jess White from Love Island 2024 has been a divisive figure in the villa, but nobody who’s watched the show this year could say a word against the fact she’s been one of the most memorable Islanders and the series wouldn’t have been the same without her Stockport ways. One of the things Jess has become infamous for in her Love Island career is the fact she kept declaring “I’m the prize” when a lad wasn’t into her. And you know what: Fair enough. We all love an affirmation. But the amount that Jess declared she was the prize on Love Island got ridiculous and it wasn’t long before everyone on the outside world was ripping her for it.

But did Jess even know she was saying it so much? Well, the Islander has finally responded to the mockery prize has made of her and has explained her full response to the entire frenzy. And to be fair to her, she’s taken it in her stride.

‘I actually don’t know where it came from’

In a video with Cosmopolitan UK on TikTok, Jess said “The I’m a prize thing, I actually don’t know where it came from and I’m mortified at how much I said it. When I looked back I thought, ‘no, I didn’t say it that much’ and my mum was like ‘Jess you said it about seven times in one episode.’ And I was like, oh my god. Cringing.

“But, something else that I say on a daily basis to myself… I don’t know if there is anything. I’ve got one now though, I can just say ‘I’m the prize’ every time I look in the mirror, can’t I? I don’t know if I’ve actually got any other affirmations that I say. Just be straight up, be honest – yeah. Don’t live with any regrets, which I don’t.”
