If you’ve spent even 0.1 seconds on Twitter or TikTok lately you’ll have seen lots of promotion for the new Twisters film with Glen Powell, but most importantly lots of adorable pics of him and his new dog Brisket. When I tell you I have become completely obsessed with this dog it’s a serious understatement, and it looks like pretty much everyone else has as well.

If Brisket wasn’t already adorable enough just living his best dog life, it turns out there’s an even more wholesome backstory behind Glen Powell deciding to adopt him whilst filming Twisters. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Glen explained that he was going through a rough breakup just before filming for Twisters started, and he felt like a dog size hole was missing from his life. He explained: “I was going through a breakup at the time and was in the middle of Enid, Oklahoma, and I had always wanted a dog. It was something I thought about a lot, but it was somewhere in this coffee shop in Enid. I don’t even know how to describe it, I just had the desire to be a father.”

He spotted Brisket through a dog adoption account on Instagram and it was love at first sight for the actor. He asked one of his friends to make sure the foundation knew he’d be a good owner, adding: “I literally messaged saying, ‘Please put in a good word for me.’ I sent them a heartbreakingly depressing video of me explaining why I needed this dog.” He was approved to become a dog dad and took a weekend off from filming Twisters to collect Brisket, who promptly became a firm part of the film set.

Glen adorably admitted that Brisket would sleep on his chair during filming, explaining: “I felt like literally a new father, where I wasn’t sleeping while shooting this movie. I had the most adorable picture of Brisket in my Twisters chair at the rodeo. But he really became sort of a set mascot on that movie. It’s just adorable.

“Sets can be very lonely places and it’s interesting when you see a dog that’s just filling you up with love. It brings a cast together even more. There’s something wonderful about animals, about how they can bring our walls down a bit and expedite friendships and things like that. So yeah, Brisket’s been amazing. I consider him the best special feature of Twisters.”

Brisket even accompanied Glen to the Twisters premiere and like all celebrity dogs he obviously has his own Instagram account and already boasts almost 50k followers which is insane. He’s also absolutely beloved by the rest of the cast, with Daisy Jonees regularly taking care of him during interviews and they even did the Charli XCX Apple dance for him on TikTok. Oh to be a dog personally entertained by Daisy Jones and Glen Powell, Brisket truly is living his best life.
