Georgia Steel is being dragged for ‘get ready with me for the mosque’ video in Abu Dhabi

Love Island star Georgia Steel is being dragged for making a “get ready with me” video ahead of visiting a mosque in Abu Dhabi. Georgia posts a lot of “get ready with me” videos on her TikTok page, but usually ahead of days out and influencer events.

The video in question has nearly a million views, and people have been questioning if it was suitable to do a classic influencer-style video ahead of visiting a religious building.

She started the video by explaining she was in Abu Dhabi, a place she didn’t expect to be a holiday destination. “We are going to the mosque this evening, well afternoon, so I thought I’d do a little get ready with me,” she said.

Georgia then went on to show a silk shirt and trouser two piece she was planning to wear because it’s “super covered up”. She said: “You want to be super covered up at the mosque so I’m going to put the trousers high and drawstring them.” Georgia then showed the shoes she was going to wear – a pair of ballet flats.

“I heard you can’t have open shoes at the mosque, I mean I think these go anyway, I just want to be super respectful,” she continued. She then picked a bag, put her hair down, and showed what jewellery she was wearing.

“I might get one of the little head scarfs when I get there,” she ended the video. “But yeah, this is the little outfit for the mosque.”

People in the comments are dragging her for her choice of wording, and for making a video about this in the first place. “Get ready to go to the mosque? Are you serious,” one person said. “Man said outfit for the mosque oh my god,” another added.

A few others made comments about her choice of outfit to visit a religious buildings, but others were quick to defend her and say her outfit is perfectly fine, especially considering Georgia did say she would pick up a head covering when she arrived.
