Despite being a bachelor in the show, here’s who Benedict marries in the Bridgerton books
And no, it’s not Lady Tilley Arnold
Season three of Bridgerton has finally given Benedict the screen time he deserves, but we’re yet to see the middle brother make a love match with anyone in the show. Currently exploring a sexual relationship with Lady Tilley Arnold and friend, Benedict is certainly getting frisky on screen, but is there a romantic relationship on the cards for him anytime soon? Here’s a look at the Benedict and his relationships in the Bridgerton books.
Benedict Bridgerton has many passionate relationships, but his romantic interest in the books is actually the illegitimate daughter of the Earl of Penwood, Sophie Beckett.
Sophie is actually a servant for her wicked stepmother and stepsister when she meets Benedict, with her father having passed away. Mr Bridgerton bumps into Sophie at a masquerade party hosted by the Bridgertons, and doesn’t realise who she is when they meet.
Sophie is quite secretive about her identity to Benedict and never reveals who she really is, but sparks fly between them and there’s an immediate, undeniable chemistry. But much alike the series of events in Cinderella, Sophie suddenly disappears on the strike of midnight and Benedict is left alone.
After being blown away by their connection, Benedict vows to find Sophie and make her his wife, but it’s another two years before the pair are reunited. And they’re in fact reunited in Benedict’s own home, when Violet Bridgerton hires her as a maid for the house.

Benedict doesn’t actually realise that the new maid is Sophie, but forms a close bond with her regardless and asks her to be his mistress, unaware she is in fact the woman he’s been searching for for years.
Despite the frustrating start, Benedict eventually sees sense and realises Sophie is the mysterious woman he met at the ball two years prior and they have their happily every after, marrying and having four children together: Charles, Alexander, William, and Violet.
Despite his fate being outlined in the books, it looks like he’ll be finding himself for a few more seasons yet before settling down.
