Cardiff student Lewis Oliva has won a medal at the Commonwealth Games
He won silver in the Keirin
Third year medical student Lewis Oliva has done Wales and Cardiff proud by winning silver in the cycling at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
Despite trailing in the early minutes of the Men's Keirin final, Oliva promptly shot to the front, and finished behind Matt Glaetzer representing Australia.
Oliva will be bringing home Wales' third medal of the games; joining weightlifter Gareth Evan's gold, and para-cyclist James Ball's silver.

Oliva isn't the only Cardiff student to be representing Wales at this years Commonwealth Games, as he is joined by netball players Sarah Llewelyn and Leila Thomas, and precision shooter Coral Kennerley.
This has been Oliva's (who is engaged to team-mate Ciara Horne) third Commonwealth Games, and it's safe to say that everyone at Cardiff Uni couldn't be prouder.
