There could soon be a train that goes from Edinburgh to London in 50 minutes

Virgin supremo Richard Branson is planning on building a train that will take less than hour to travel between London and Edinburgh.

The millionaire has invested £65 million in Elon Musk's Hyperloop One company that is looking to create a new high-speed way of travelling that relies on 'magnetic levitation.'

Branson has called the proposal "the world's most revolutionary train service" and plans to have the London to Edinburgh route as one of just a select few Hyperloop projects around the world.

In its most recent round of testing, the train reached 192 miles per hour so it could still be a while yet until they get the journey time down to 50 minutes.
