Third year organises wavey garms, food and arts festival at Canal Mills

A Leeds third year has organised a vintage clothes, food and arts festival at Canal Mills.
Beckett Entertainment Management student Zak Avery is turning Canal Mills into a free edgy marketplace for the afternoon of February 20th.
The marketplace is set to have a party vibe filled with vintage clothing, trainers, cocktails, free giveaways, food stalls, and DJs.
The man himself
Speaking to the Tab, Zak said: “Expect a variety of Vintage, ranging from the low end super-cheap deals like Nike and Adidas, to your high-end couture such as Versace, Gucci and Armani.
“We’ve got loads of independent brands coming to sell too with loads of trainers – even the sought-after Yeezys.”

Zak added: “Gourmet street food, cocktails on tap and beer pong will be ongoing.
“There’s even going to be a chilled party room with DJs from some established Leeds nights.
“I’ve been working alongside Louise Turriff on the event, as she’s been working at Canal Mills for a long time and felt it was time to push something new.
“We’ve even got some big names from Manchester and London – I’m hoping people stick around a party afterwards as it starts at noon but there’s no set finishing time.
“It’s not trying to be another vintage fair. It’s a day out, a fun time for all with creativity bursting from the seams.”

The inspiration behind the event is Zak’s love of clothing. He says: “”I’ve always been passionate about fashion, and vintage clothing has become huge in Leeds.
“That’s why I decided to set up my clothes business, Avery’s Emporium.
“This event is a great opportunity to come down for free, have some fun, and get some great deals on vintage clothes.”
