There’s going to be another Tube strike this weekend
A Saturday night out sounds even less appealing
3,000 furious Tube staff are set to strike for two days beginning at 9pm this Saturday.
The strike, which is taking place from Saturday night through to Monday evening, follows countless Tube strikes over the last year.
As many as four million commuters may be delayed on Monday morning, while party-goers afflicted with Saturday night fever should save up for an expensive cab ride home.
None of this at the weekend
The walk-out is being coordinated by the RMT labour union over a lengthy dispute about the recent closure of several ticket offices. Talks between TFL and the RMT will occur later this week which may prevent the strike.
Tensions between TFL, the RMT, and other unions have been high ever since TFL started pushing for a night tube service last year.
Tube workers have been told by disgruntled Transport for London bosses they risk “losing £500” by participating in the strike.
Steve Griffiths, London Underground COO has said: “The only thing a strike will do is badly hit hardworking Londoners and lose staff two days pay and a £500 bonus.”
