Belfast is the trendiest city in Europe

Belfast has claimed the title of the trendiest city in Europe.

The prize giving was held by the M!CE and Business Travel conference, in Amsterdam.

Belfast was up against two other cities – Valencia in Spain the 3rd largest city in Spain and Reykjavik which is the largest city of Iceland.

One factor in the win was our airports offering cheap ways to travel to the UK and other European cities, resulting in Belfast being a popular place for less expensive city breaks.

Other reasons include the filming of Game of Thrones, where Belfast now offers a tour of the shooting locations, and the Titanic building.

Our night life is also a booming success, having a large variety of over 50 different bars and night clubs to suit all tastes.

And let’s not forget us wonderful people, what could be more appealing than our delightful accents.

Sociology third year Padraig McKenna said: “With places like Thompson’s night club in the city of Belfast it’s no surprise we’re the trendiest city in the EU, London’s fashion walks are nothing compared to Thompsons.”
