Tooting Broadway was evacuated because of a ‘man armed with scissors’

Tooting Broadway station was earlier evacuated following reports a man was threatening passengers with scissors.

At 1:30pm the station was evacuated and armed police, ambulances and fire engines arrived on the scene, bringing mass hysteria and confusion with them.

Around 2:10pm, Wandsworth Metropolitan Police announced they were looking for a man who had been threatening Tube passengers with scissors.

They found a man matching the description, but police remain on the scene while they await confirmation.
