It’s the worst crime you could ever experience and those who commit it are among the most hardened villains there are.
Bike theft scars everyone it affects — a staggering 3775 bikes were pinched last year and now for the first time we can reveal the worst unis afflicted by this horrid crime.
The worst unis are Cambridge, Oxford and Cardiff, racking up 853 nicked bikes between them.
Crime stats from Police UK suggest the safest uni for bikes is Lancaster: our condolences to the one unlucky individual affected.
Using their data, we compiled bike thefts from the start of the 2014 academic year around campus until now.
