Meg Platt, Director of Student Development and Activities, has just announced that there will be significant changes in the union’s room booking system. The 1st Fifeshire Local Militia has been put on standby.

Due to the Union’s upcoming redevelopment, space and quiet will be reduced and only 4 hours per week will be available for society booking. Further to this, bookings may be subjected to disruption with little to no notice. This will apply most noticeably during the month of February, when the relocation of Student Services’ offices will limit use of the Salad Bowl and Committee Rooms.

The Salad Bowl will be especially restricted, accepting bookings only for groups of greater than 25 for half of the space. The Main Bar, however, will continue to be available throughout the semester for ad hoc boozy meetings.

Bookings can be made from 2pm on Monday 28th, in the Main Bar. Keep an eye on The Stand for updates on the impact of the Union’s sexy make-over.
