The Lion, the Spliff and the Wardrobe!

Pot farm discovered down secret passageway after neighbours alert police.

A secret pot farm was found in a wardrobe by Norwich Police last week.

The discovery was made after locals told police they thought neighbours were illegally cultivating drugs. Officers then raided the property on Tuesday 8 January, uncovering a secret passageway hidden within a wardrobe, which led to a Cannabis-growing operation.

And they say having a potted plant in your room is good for you…

The passage was hidden by a curtain and led directly to an outside garage used to grow and store the class B drug.

Officers had to crawl through a 3ft by 2ft hole at the back of the wardrobe to access the hidden room.

They found 33 cannabis plants hidden in the loft of the property and seized paraphernalia found in the garage, including an extractor fan, lighting equipment, a transformer, and plant fertiliser. A 37-year-old man has been cautioned.

As police crackdown on illegal drug farming across the UK, a report by the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) revealed the number of cannabis farms has more than doubled to 7,865 in the past four years.

There has been an increase in the domestic production of Cannabis as official reports suggest that the UK has quite literally ‘gone green’ and no longer imports but grows the majority of cannabis consumed in the UK.

Reports suggest that there are 64 drug farms for every 100,000 people in the UK.
