New world university rankings have been released today, revealing that Northeastern is one of the world’s best institutions.

The study, which judged over 1000 universities across the world, placed Northeastern 361st. There are an estimated 26,000 universities in the world, which would put Northeastern in the top 2 percent.

Northeastern proudly sits next to George Washington University, who placed at 363rd.

At the top of the table, MIT retained the top spot, followed closely by Stanford and Harvard.  Stanford overtook the University of Cambridge into second place and in doing so, it means that the United States holds all of the top-three places for the first time since the inaugural rankings of 2004.
