Burst out of the Comm. Ave bubble

Walking up and down this campus can drive you mad

With two months to the end of the semester and winter coming fast, it’s been hard to leave out little world of Boston University. But midterms haven’t killed us (yet) and there’s tons to do to get out of the god awful Comm. Ave BU-bble.

Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market

Though it’s a quick outing, Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market are full of a college student’s dream, FOOD.

Save yourself from ramen and dining hall pizza and take a trip over. Stores and restaurants line the street, but the real good stuff is inside the two buildings.

From pizza bagels to giant cookies, you won’t leave hungry.

BONUS: Random things go on outside of Quincy Market, from Acapella competitions to pet parades.

SoWa Open/Vintage Market

On Sundays this gem can be found a short walk from Boylston T-stop.

The Open Market runs May-October and contains handmade goods, a farmers market, and a food truck court. There is nothing more amazing than this food truck court, trust me.

The indoor Vintage market runs all year and if you’re into that indie-hipster decoration for your dorm, give it a try.

Prudential Center Skywalk

After walking around the Prudential Center and wishing you could afford to shop at Ted Baker and Tiffany’s, find the Skywalk desk and buy your $13 ticket to see Boston with a 360° view. If you go at night you can see the whole city light up.

Tip: go during Red Sox season to see a home game through the binoculars.

The Boston Music Scene

If you’re a reasonable human then you like music, and if you’re a cultured human then you like like music and concerts.

You’re in luck because Boston is full of awesome venues that have awesome shows. Close ones include: The Sinclair, Paradise Rock Club, Brighton Music Hall, The Great Scott, House of Blues, Royale, and your good old Allston house basement (you have to find that one on your own, sorry).

If you’re too lazy to seek out shows on your own, Bandsintown is the app to get. It’ll change your life (and empty your wallet).

Cool concerts happen all the time at the Brighton Music Hall

Castle Island

It’s a fort, open year round, and accessible buy T, so what’s not to love?

Now that I’ve helped you plan your next three weekends, there is literally no excuse to stay on Comm. Ave any longer.

Get off your computer and get out of the bubble.
