If the 2016 presidential nominees had their own Spotify playlists

Hillary is definitely ready to ‘Kill Em With Kindness’

On August 11, 2016, President Obama dropped his latest summer playlist. While scrolling through the songs that he choose, and acknowledging the artists that I knew, my roommate asked, “What if all of the presidential nominees put out their own playlists?”

This got us to thinking and laughing about the thought of which songs each would likely jam out to.

A couple of beers later, and I was ready to match each candidate’s persona to a Spotify playlist. Enjoy!

Donald Trump

Donald Trump wants to make America great again. From his humble beginnings as a man that was loaned just one million dollars (by his father), he is now a 4.5 billion dollar business man and Republican presidential nominee.

Though he’s seen his fair share of controversy, he’s made it clear that Donald does what Donald wants – something that the American people find oddly refreshing.

I feel like Donald Trump listens to a lot of 80s rock music. I picture him lip synching in the mirror and using his brush as a microphone to belt out classics such as ‘Here I Go Again’ and ‘It’s My Life.’

Likewise, I also picture him straightening his tie and fixing his toupee to ‘Everybody Wants to Rule the World.’ He’s sassy and just dgaf.

Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton really, really wants to be president. She’s waited eight patient years, battled out Bernie, and has finally been named the first woman to represent a major party in the presidential race… only to be shadowed by her Benghazi email scandal.

However, Hillary is a fighter. With the backing of the Democratic party, she’s picked herself back up, bought a fresh new set of pantsuits, and put on her classic Clinton smile.

She’s winning back the American people and giving Trump a run for his money.

Jill Stein

Bernie supporters are running to support Jill Stein. The Green Party nominee is picking up where Bernie left off – empowering young people and continuing “the revolution.”

The Harvard graduate and (anti-vac??) medical doctor is taking America by storm. Stein wants to give the power back to the people. She believes that the people are entitled to the rights of education, health, a better Earth, and weed.

She’s a chill person and seems like she wants to make a change for future generations.

Gary Johnson

Gary Johnson is the Libertarian nominee. He was a previous New Mexico Governor and is pro gun rights.

I didn’t really know how to channel my inner Gary, so I choose a nice set of top 100 white dude songs.
