Tim Kaine says vote for the ‘you’re hired’ candidate: Hillary Clinton

“I’d like to take a second to compare Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump,” Vice Presidential nominee Tim Kaine began at an event in Greensboro, NC, today before he was interrupted by someone in the crowd.

“There’s no comparison!” a woman yelled. “Welp, my speech is over,” a grinning Kaine said to laughter from the crowd.

At the Historic J. Douglas Galyon Train Depot in Greensboro, Kaine and other elected Democratic officials touted the job-creating policies of Hillary Clinton while also responding to the attacks of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

“Trump’s been picking so many fights lately, I heard he hired Don King as his campaign manager,” said NC Congresswoman Alma Adams.

Mr. Suryavant Upadhyaya and his wife Kokylaben told The Tab they hope a Clinton/Kaine administration will put a stop to the recent rise in terrorism seen across the Globe. The couple migrated to the US from India years ago

Any mention of Trump’s name drew significant boos and groans from the crowd of about 300, eager to hear about the Democrats’ plan to make things better for small business owners as well as educators in the Tar Heel State.

Indeed, Kaine promoted himself as a “neighbor” and he, along with the rest of the speakers, touched on a variety of local issues including House Bill 2 and the recent repeal of discriminatory voter registration laws.

“If your vote isn’t important, why is the other side fighting so hard to keep you out of the booth?” said Kaine to the crowd, steadily encouraging voters to hit the polls as election day gets closer and closer.

Among the attendees was former NC Senator Don Vaughan who shared an interesting piece of trivia with us.

“I’m very excited [Kaine] came to Greensboro. He could be the third vice presidential candidate to visit this historic station and then go on to be president – the first was Lyndon Johnson in 1964.”

Other prominent speakers and guests present at the event included Mayor of Greensboro Nancy Vaughan, Congresswoman Adams and Attorney General and Gubernatorial candidate Roy Cooper. Cooper vehemently attacked the GOP and Incumbent Governor Pat McCrory about the state of NC’s public schools and the continuing fallout from House Bill 2.

The controversial legislation that many claim is discriminatory against the LGBT community has cost the state millions of dollars in revenue due to protests and travel bans on the state, most notably the withdrawal of the NBA All Star game from Charlotte. While many of the entrepreneurs in our state are still finding ways to stay afloat, they are doing so in spite of, not because of, Governor McCrory.

Kaine is set to make more campaign stops this week as the election heats up. The recent turmoil over on the GOP side involving Trump’s split with VP candidate Mike Pence will make things even more interesting as the week comes to an end.
